What a Frameless Shower Enclosure Costs in Boise, and Why

A frameless shower enclosure in Boise typically costs between $1,800 and $4,500 installed, and larger multi panel or steam layouts can run past $5,000. Three decisions drive nearly all of that spread: glass thickness, hardware, and layout.

Roadrunner Glass has been working in glass since 1966, and every custom frameless shower enclosure in Boise we build is measured on site and fabricated for the exact opening. We do not install prefabricated kits, which is why your price comes from your bathroom and not a catalog.

Glass Thickness: 3/8 Inch or 1/2 Inch

Frameless enclosures use 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch tempered safety glass. Half inch glass is heavier and common for larger panels and premium installations, so it costs more and needs hardware rated to carry the weight. Tempered glass is roughly four to five times stronger than standard glass, and it breaks into small rounded pieces if it ever fails.

Clarity is the other glass decision. Clear glass works for most bathrooms, while Low Iron Ultra Clear removes the slight green edge and looks best against white tile. Rain and frosted glass add privacy. Manufacturers such as Agalite and its frameless door collections offer both thickness options across several configurations.

Layout and Hardware

Layout is where the price range really opens up. A single hinged door sits at the low end, typically $1,200 to $2,000 installed for the door alone. Add fixed panels, a corner neo angle design, or a steam enclosure, and the glass count and hardware load climb. Our frameless shower door installation in Boise covers each of these layouts:

  • Hinged doors and sliding doors
  • Doors with fixed panels and inline enclosures
  • Corner neo angle showers
  • Steam shower enclosures
  • Doorless walk in shower glass panels

Hardware finish and hinge style are chosen to match your fixtures, and heavier glass means more demanding hardware. For background on glass codes and standards, the National Glass Association industry standards page is a solid starting point.
